Great Ponton Parish Council
Minutes of the meeting of GPPC held on 3rd November 2025 at 7pm at the Village Centre.
Present: Councillors Ian Cruickshank Eileen Booth, Parish Clerk Carol Ramsey.  Chris Lord VC Linda Adams David Bellamy, Gordon Taylor
Chairmans welcome. 
Open public forum.   No attendance
1 Apologies Charntal Askew
2 Declarations of interest according with the Localism Act 2001. None received.
3 Previous minutes 06/10/2025 were declared as correct.
Village/Council matters
4a CR and LA attended a Flood Defence meeting with Alicia Kearns, the Environmental Agency and LCC. Relevant information was fed back to the PC. It was agreed to form a subgroup for flood defences in the village and to include Stephen Jackson in this group. It was agreed to look into Aquasacs as an alternative to sandbags.
4b Boundary village centre still ongoing
 4c the abandoned trailer on the A1 has been removed
4d It was stressed how important the survey on A1 closures is to Highways. Extra forms have been left at the VC to encourage more villagers to complete the survey
4e PC received a quote of £500 + vat to remove the container. IC will ask SOS Motorcycle Transport if they would take the container
 5 District and county councillors’ reports
Local government reorganisation is no further forward.
6 VC matters and reports. Fire works/Halloween went very well. PL thank
7 Financial matters
 a Up to date PC accounts were circulated.
b It was agreed to increase rent for dog agility/ storage to £250, an increase of £50 per annum. 
It was agreed not to increase the rent from the Portuguese Football club 
8 Correspondence A retrospective bill regarding village notice boards was received from William Perry. This will be discussed at the next PC meeting
9 Councillors reports and matters for inclusion on the next agenda
None received
