Great Ponton Parish Council
Minutes of the meeting of GPPC held on 30th June 2025 at 7pm at the Village Centre.
 
Present: Councillors Ian Cruickshank Gordon Taylor Eileen Booth, Fred Furber,  
Linda Adams.  Parish Clerk Carol Ramsey.  Paul Lashmar VC
 
Chairmans welcome. 
 
Open public forum.   None
 
1 Apologies Charntal Askew
 
2 Declarations of interest according with the Localism Act 2001. None received.
 
3 Previous minutes 19/5/2025 were declared as correct.
 
Village/Council matters
4a Grass cutting update It was agreed to cut the school bank back and add this to the grass cutting regime on a twice-yearly basis 
4b Provision of shower in portacabin. PC not keen on providing a shower. Carlos to be told he can install a shower as long as the purchase and upkeep is his responsibility.
4c Boundary village centre still ongoing
4d White gates It was agreed to purchase signs “Welcome to Great Ponton “for the gates in the village. IC will organise.
4e Loan for field. It was agreed that monies held by the PC will be used to pay off the loan, with half being paid at the end of this financial year, and the remainder at the end of the following year. This will make the PC debt free by 2027
4f Notice boards have now been installed in the village
 
 5 District and county councillors’ reports
None given
 
6 VC matters and reports. Functions are going well at the centre, and bookings continue to improve.
Web site is about to go live. Any large events, immediate neighbours will be informed in advance
 
9 Community playing fields.
The portacabins are not insured CR to investigate add to GPVC insurance
Grass cutting is going well. Portuguese Football academy continues to rent the field
 
10 Financial matters
 Up to date PC accounts were circulated.
 
11 Correspondence none received
