Great Ponton Parish Council
Minutes of the meeting of GPPC held on 13th January 2025 at 7pm at the Village Centre.
Present: Councillors Ian Cruickshank Gordon Taylor Eileen Booth and Fred Furber Linda Adams. Parish Clerk Carol Ramsey, and Richard Parkinson Chair. Charlotte Vernon, David Bellamy and Ben Green Councillors.

1 No apologies
2 Declarations of interest according with the Localism Act 2001. None received.
3 Previous minutes 18/11/2024 were declared as correct.
4 a There continues to be traffic incidents on Heath Lane. RP has contacted Highways. A set of white gates are proposed to assist traffic calming. Charlotte Vernon is involved with setting up a traffic restriction order and will keep all posted. HGV, s continues to be a problem diverting through the village. It was suggested to use Lorry Watch to report overweight lorries driving through the village
4b Community speed watch. Both cameras are working. RP cannot retrieve statistics from the older camera. DB has agreed to pass on information on the cameras to RP
4c Boundary village centre still ongoing
4d A1 issues. Improvements to the A1 commence 8pm to 6am January to April 2025
4e White gate update Approved sites are between the river and PJ farm and at the top of Dally gate. Quotes were looked at and the preferred supplier is Jacks. Orders will be placed after the meeting.
4f It was agreed to ask for a 5% increase for 2025/6
4g PC has received a payment of £2895 for flood relief in the village from the RPA. However, this grant is not meant to help individuals. PC resolved to look at ways to minimise flooding at the lower end of the village.
6 District and county councillors’ reports.
There could be an amalgamation of all Lincolnshire counties for council purposes.
Community grants are available for small projects u to £5k.
Information relating to harassment of BG will be on the internet soon.
Local planning review SKDC want to increase housing by 885 new properties.
Maximum of 5 new properties would be allowed to be built in Great Ponton, however no plans exist for any new builds.
6 VC matters and reports
Functions are going well at the centre, and bookings are beginning to improve.
7a Community playing fields.
Repairs have been carried out to the portacabin as agreed
8 Financial matters
a. Up to date PC accounts were circulated to councillors
b. Browns Trust monies were circulated to the widows as per the Trust rules.
