Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting of Great Ponton Parish Council
Held on 15th July 2019 at 7pm in Village Centre.
Present:
Cllrs E.Booth. Chairman, P.Jackson, Vice-Chairman, D.Booth and G.Taylor.
District Cllrs Adams and Bellamy. Two members of Grantham Town Football Club Academy.
Welcome.
Public Forum.
1. Apologies of absence.
a. Apologies received from Cllr Cruickshank, reasons given and accepted by all.
2. Declarations of interest.
a. Received from Cllr Jackson, regarding the Chicken Farm planning application.
3. Notes of the minutes of the Annual Parish Council Meeting held on 13th May 2019 to be approved as the new minutes.
a. Proposed by Cllr D.Booth and seconded by Cllr P.Jackson. Resolved to accept these minutes
4. Matters arising for the minutes:
a. Highways matters. More potholes had been reported. Village litter pick had been done.
Village looking reasonably tidy and strimming had been done around the churchyard.
b. Speed Indicator Device. 22287 vehicles had passed the unit with an average of 25.6 mph. One speed of 60mph had been recorded at 6.50am.
c. Boundary in village. Ongoing.
5. Village Centre Matters/Report.
a. Lots of bookings throughout July. Friday evenings are well attended, but more helpers are required. Air conditioning is soon to be installed. Cabaret evening on 27th July. Ideas for putting a conservatory attached to the bar area was well received, but now looking at getting prices and then raising funds.
b. The AGM is due soon with the hope of extra people joining the committee to help.
6. Community Playing Field.
a. Invoice for the Dog Training Club has been sent. To chase up the ‘Flying Club’. A new litter bin and poo bag dispenser has been installed. A car parking area will be formed on the field with stone donated locally.
b. Grantham Town Football Club Academy has agreed to use the playing field football pitches for the next 12 months, with groups of youngsters taking part. They have offered to pay for the flood lights to be changed to LED and the use of water and electric will be invoiced accordingly. All youngsters from the local and wider area will be most welcome. They have offered to paint and tidy up the cabins and the Parish Council will supply them with keys etc. It was agreed by all to get the grass cut on the ‘pitch’ area weekly, but the remaining field cut as per the normal schedule.
Please note: Access to the playing field is still available for everyone to use.
c. Caravan & Camping Club. Steady flow of campers arriving.
7. Financial matters.
a. The latest financial report had been circulated and it was resolved to accept the figures given.
8. Browns Trust.
a. The accounts stood at £29.47 and £148.38
9. Planning matters.
a. Any local planning applications had been dealt with accordingly.
b. Chicken Farm planning application. The Parish Council in conjunction with the developers, had arranged an ‘open day’ at the Village Centre, to allow the public to view and discuss the chicken farm plans.
A local resident had arranged posters to be posted through every door drawing their attention to a Public Meeting that had been arranged the following Friday to raise concerns regarding this planning application in the hopes of getting the application refused.
c. The Quarry planning application. An SKDC officer has been delegated for this case and the outcome depends on what objections or comments have been received. Although the terms and conditions of the original application would still apply. Cllr Adams said he would make contact with the contractor to stop his heavy vehicles coming through the village.
At this point Cllrs Adams and Bellamy left the meeting. 19.45.
10. Correspondence.
a. Any correspondence received was either made available or used within the agenda.
11. Cllrs reports & items for inclusion at the next meeting. Or reports on other items not on the agenda.
a. None.
12. Date of the next meeting is booked for Monday 16th September 2019.
13. To resolve whether to exclude public, press or Police, who will be required to leave the meeting at this stage.
a. None.
